I recently had a delightful stay at Flatheim Villa in a charming studio overlooking a rushing river. the entire property, from the old and artistic decorations to the fairytale grounds, was simply amazing. the owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, providing recommendations for scenic walking trails in the beautiful surrounding nature. the homemade breakfast, along with the option of having a nice café experience, was a treat. Sleeping with the soothing sound of the river was truly peaceful. Flatheim Villa is definitely worth a slight deviation from the main road when traveling north/south from Bergen. Cons: Can honestly say there wasn't anything not to like. 😊.

Beautiful Mountain Views: We were delighted to wake up to breathtaking mountain views from our rustic-style room. It felt like being transported into a fairytale with the majestic peaks surrounding us.
Noisy Floor/Doors: The only minor inconvenience we experienced was the creaky floors and doors. Occasionally, we were disturbed by the sound of someone moving around in the corridor, especially during the night.

Enjoyed skiing, cycling, and fishing in the surroundings. Stayed at a charming farm with a private bathing area, bookable hot tub, and BBQ facilities next to the river. Access to laundry room was convenient.
Had to hike outside to access the apartment and use the bathroom. Not my preferred way to start the day, but hey, it's an adventure!

We got great value for our money at this cozy and charming hotel. The room was tastefully decorated and spacious for our family of 4. The location was fine, with a picturesque river right in the backyard and beautiful green mountains all around. The staff treated us with warmth and hospitality, making us feel right at home. And the added bonus of having a farm cafe on-site was perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee or a delicious lunch.
The only minor complaint I have about the breakfast offerings was that there could have been a wider variety of choices.

I couldn't bear to leave this incredible place! The interior was absolutely stunning, with every item perfectly matching in a beautiful Scandinavian style. The peaceful surroundings offered a breathtaking trail of waterfalls to explore. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed for cooking, and we loved starting our days with a delicious breakfast on the patio, while enjoying the perfect view. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. Taking a break on our road trip, we stayed in the old house which had such a charming, historic atmosphere. Watching the sheep from our window added an extra touch of interest. The tranquility at night was heavenly. Breakfast was a treat, with freshly baked bread and homemade gooseberry jam. We also had a delightful lunch at the farm's cafe, where the homemade soup was spot on. The hosts and staff were friendly and easy to talk to, always ready to assist. this was one of the loveliest places we stayed at during our Norway trip. The apartment was even more beautiful than in the online pictures, spacious, and impeccably clean. The location was perfect, with an incredible waterfall practically in the backyard. I can't say enough about how amazing this property is!

The countryside location was perfect for a peaceful and quiet getaway. We loved waking up to the beautiful view of the river and surrounding nature. the owners were friendly and provided helpful recommendations for scenic walks in the area.
The mattress in our room was quite soft and uneven, which made it uncomfortable to sleep on. the lack of kitchen supplies and equipment made it difficult for longer stays or if you plan on cooking your own meals.

stayed at a heritage house in Viksdalen, but Flatheim blew me away! The mix of old wooden houses and modern facilities was surprising. The location is an oasis in the Norwegian mountains, with a trail of waterfalls to hike. The owner was so helpful, explaining where to buy goods and letting us use the kitchen and dining room.
